Mrs. Janice Marie Walker, 72, passed away Sunday, January 30, 2011.

She was born June 12, 1938 in Johnson City, TN and was a daughter of the late George A. St John and Felicia D. Jones. She received a Bachelor’s Degree from Evangel College in Springfield, MO and had lived in Bristol since 1963. She was the General Accounting Manager at Bristol Compressors and retired from there after 29 years of service. She was a member of Abingdon First Assembly of God Church where she had taught Sunday school classes, was a musician and had directed the choir.

Survivors are her husband, Rev. Charles W. Walker; her sister, Kathy Poston and husband, Perry of Bristol, TN; her brother, Dion E. St. John and wife, Sandra of Bristol, VA; nephew, Dion St. John, II and wife, Claudia; nieces, Chereé Tisack and husband, Chris; Monique Wack and husband, Skylar; Chelsea St. John and husband, Austin Wade; great nephew, Mason Wack; great nieces, Tessa and Lilly Wack and special friend, Charlotte Warner.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, February 3, 2011 in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Rev. Roger Williams and Rev. William Spann officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. View Cemetery in Bristol, VA. Pallbearers will be Men of Abingdon First Assembly of God Church./b>
